Importance of Inspection and Testing

A faulty installation can result from incorrect fitting/installation or it can become damaged. Whether it is home or business premise, electrical inspection and testing is beneficial in various ways.

  1. Safety: electrical inspections and tests help identify electrical hazards and rectified them accordingly. This prevents incidents and accidents such as electrocution, electric fires and shocks.
  2. Compliance: workplace standards and regulations outline the need for regular tests and inspections on electrical installations. Failure to comply with these regulations results in legal liabilities and fines.
  3. Preventive Maintenance: when conducted o regular basis, electrical inspections and tests play a major role identifying issues/faults before escalation into costly problems. Early detection and correction help in preventing equipment failure, reduce downtime and save on expensive replacements/repairs that would have resulted.
  4. Optimal Performance: when tested, electrical system efficiencies can be optimized and this enhances the reliability of an electrical installation.
  5. Reduced Liability: A well maintained electrical installation play a major role in reducing equipment failure and accidents/incidents. This in turn decreases likelihood of any liability claims against businesses.
  6. Peace of mind: an assurance that results from a properly inspected electrical installation gives peace of mind to business owners, tenants or occupants of an establishment.
  7. Long-Term Cost Savings: though electrical inspections and tests are conducted at a cost; long-term benefits outweigh the cost of conducting the exercise. Long-term benefits include assured safety, prevention of costly replacements and compliance purposes.
